BST Merits

What do you plan on meriting? What have you merited so far?

My merits for Bst currently are:

Axe - 3
Crit - 2
Beast Affinity - 3-Lv1, 4-Lv2 (only 15 merit points to go until BA -Lv5)
MP - 2 (Elvaan )

Kinda behind on merits but I am back on the treadmill.

Has anyone tried out Feral Howl?

Sadly I'm meriting WAR first so I'm not gimp for endgame, but after my focus will be bst.

Here is my overall merit plan since theres some overlapping. If I end up soloing some merits it will go to bst first.

GAxe
Double Attack
Crit
Warrior's Charge (DA Steelcyclone mmm...)
Beast Affinity
Axe
2/5 Berserk and Aggressor
Either tomhawk or savagery, its a toss up need to do reading on how useful tomahawk really is.
Feral Howl
STR
Two out of three of either sic, call beast, or intimidation. Its really a tossup on what I want to do with bst in the future, I always wanted to do bst tanking as a pet project in the future.


You probably notice that the priority is for weapon skill then % modifiers for DD like DA and crit then the rest of the abilities that can be merited. Base stats like STR are fairly low priority. Attack is better for auto attacks and multi hit WS.

Also I'm a bit of a minmaxer, have fun whatever your play style. I did some serious theorycrafting in wow, thankfully in this game you can pick up what stats are better easily.

Oh lol I forgot Feral Howl, I have 3 merits in it. Its great for those do or die situations, when you need a sec. Terrify lasts long enough to recharm or call bst and fight.

It said on ffxiclopedia that feral howl has an initial 15 minute recast and each merit is -2:30. Up to 5 merits for feral howl but only a max reduction of 5 minutes. Do the other merits put in strength the duration or potency of Feral howl?

That I'm no so sure about, I have not read anywhere that you can merit the duration or potency of Feral but I can't be sure that it is not possible. I would check the bst forums on Alla and KI there may be a post regarding such testing.
