Quote :
Introduction of "Fields of Valor."
"Fields of Valor" is a new system in which players can take on voluntary training regimes to slay a number of specified enemies in an assigned period of time. One training regime may be undertaken per Vana'dielian day. If successful, players will receive experience points, gil, and Fields of Valor points redeemable for other benefits.
*Monsters must yield experience in order to constitute confirmed kills.

Players can undertake training regimes by examining the "Field Manual" in any of the areas listed below, then selecting "Individual Training" and choosing their desired objective from the subsequent menu.

West Ronfaure / Valkurm Dunes / Jugner Forest / North Gustaberg / Pashhow Marshlands /
Beaucedine Glacier / Xarcabard / West Sarutabaruta / Buburimu Peninsula / Meriphataud Mountains / Qufim Island

I think I will be checking this out tonight. Anyone want to join?

Hell yea, sync party tonight? Very Happy

Just throwing out my jobs for syncing to: 36 bst, 46 pup. Looking at the zones, nothing really jumps out at me as possible "xp" spots for those levels, so we might want to sync to someone else.

Keep in mind, I expect Dunes and Qufim to be flipping packed tonight, drastically slowing down pulls.

Yeah in my experience, it's best to lay low right after expansions or updates. FFXI isn't a race, it's a grind. Fields of Valor will be there tomorrow, lol.

Street Fighter 2 HD. $15 on the PSN.

I sorta want it, but it's not even worth $15 to me. I know I'd play it once or twice and never touch it again. I've got about 3 other games cycling in the cd drive not to mention Tekken on the hard drive. Naturally there is ffxi holding my attention as well.

I got it because I grew up playing that video game. So many hours at those packed video game arcades... so many tokens/quarters wasted.

*sigh*

Well reading up a bit on some player experiences with FoV so far, it looks like it wouldn't be as cramped as we thought. I forgot there is a limit of doing it once per Vana day.

I may try going to Beaucedine Glacier on my 46 pup and slapping decent challenge mobs around while doing FoV when available, and hopefully looting caskets that drop (B. Glacier is an eligible zone for caskets). Anyone else is welcome to join and sync down. If we have anyone near 41+, we could probably make a low-man exp party for the area instead while still participating in these new features.

Ayda and I are level 41. I am definitely going to need some stress relief after my test, but I won't be done and logged in etc until 9pm CST (10pm EST or 7pm PST).

FoV was fun. I went through 4 pages, each one pretty simple to solo in the Glacier starting at level 46 (pup). Between the xp you get from killing ep's and the reward for finishing a page, you level up pretty quick. There's a gil reward at the end, plus the usual drops from all the mobs you killed (4 beastman seals Razz ), and of course the new casket system is included. I ended the session about 200xp till 48, just too tired to do any more.

I would have joined you IFTMIS but I was stuck in Delkfutt's forever trying to get a darn chest key for Ayda. The coffer respawn time is nice! I popped a chest for my af item and it immediately respawned in the next room.

Just wish the key would drop... I ran out of jug pets so I warped back home.

Tonight my focus is going to be on casket hunting. Gonna roll out to Meri[tab] Mountains on thf and just plow through yagudo. I read that the Herder's Subligar drops there.
